There goes that Bannerjee twit again. Everything has a deeper darker meaning. Mister Dahl would have laughed him out of the picture and then featured him in his next rollicking episode.
    (just an amateur take)

Reverse psychologly. The pig eats the farmer instead! The pig had all the brains, and farmer had none! (Report) Reply

Loved this poem, laughed a lot
Fell in love with Piggy fat
Own him though is the last thought
For he might have me for breakfast

...........oh this is truly a masterpiece.....and animals are very smart....only last week I saw a pig escape from the back of a truck on the way to the slaughter house....I knew for sure he would die from the tremendous fall...but he didn't he bounced up off the pavement.... and seemed to be ok....wonder if they caught him....I hope not.... What does it MEAN? Silly. It means: Eat or be eaten; but don't be a pig about it. (Report) Reply

Even though it looks like a funny poem, it is not.The poem criticizes our way of life.It is satiric.Often poets use animals to teach us a lesson. The pig here is an erudite fellow and yet he misinterprets the meaning of life. The poet brings out the horrific truth prevalent in this world. Thus, instead of repaying the farmer for giving him food, he is hostile. We should also take note of the farmer's name, Bland which also means mild.So in spite of being educated and intelligent, the pig fails to understand friendship and love. For him, education has not served its purpose and instead has made him paranoid and hostile.Hope this interpretation helps.
