The 'Poem A Day' Project - Day 38

Rating: 2.8

You’ll never do it, not a chance
I can see you’re useless at a glance
You haven’t got the skills you need
The craft, the poise, the will, the speed
You’re all off line, you’re way off aim
You’re not even in the same game
Outclassed again, you’ve lost your fight
Too late, goodbye, so long, good night
Not a hope why even try
Might as well try to paint the sky
But you wont listen, cheese for brain
So I will watch you fail again
-
You did like I said you would
I always knew you really could
I know what really got you through
Was my unshakable belief in you

Could be either... or both... or neither. I see it as one person throughout, could be inner voice or just an annoying friend 8)

Hmm, this was interesting. I'm a little confused, though: are there two voices in the poem? If there are, could the first be your own self-doubt, perhaps, and the last be another person who believes in you? Or maybe there is just one voice, which is yours, I guess, and it shows how you believe in yourself deep down, but push yourself to improve by disbelieving. Good job, anyway.
