The Poem Of The Dark Night

THE POEM OF THE DARK NIGHT

The poem of the dark night
It is a poem of looking far away and dreaming
It does not know the shapes or names of the stars
It does not know the measures of the great distances
It does not know why or how there is so much more than can be seen

But it does know
That dreaming of the night and looking at the sky
Is a way of saying the Darkness is not only inside

And that somehow all that will ever be
Is blacker than the blackest blackness
Darker than the deepest dreams
