The Preacher Poem by Phillip Robertson

The Preacher

Preach! Preach for your brothers who have been lost for you
Preach for those who have done you wrong
Preach on those whose sins shall not be forgiven
Preach for those of a life worth not even a penny
Preach for those of a life of suffering
If the crowd is listening, tell them the truth
If the crowd is patient, teach them
If the crowd doubts, show them
If the crowd applauds, praise them
If the crowd ignores, leave them
If the crowd shouts for more, give them
If the crowd attacks then your sins are to be forgiven
Your life is a whirlwind of doubt and stress
Do not be the teacher but the student
Learn from them as they learn from you
Gain their trust and you shall be a rich man
