The Primordial Delicacy Poem by Temitope Adebowale

The Primordial Delicacy

It was on a night with the full moon
After a day that was full of tease
Fueling our ecstasy
Threatening to make our cherries bloom

The night seems full of promise
After so many days filled with unease
And an unending chats with Stacy
Hoping it lifts the blanket of gloom

And the dark of the night got born
After so many weeks our heart, in rhythmic bliss they beat
For we determine our next move, tonight is a night of democracy
Solemnly, I pray it all ends in fireworks, 'kaboom! '

As the moonlight hit our unsheathed flesh
After so many months, I got some affectionate kiss
Firing my hormones and brain in crazy frenzy
And I knew the doors were closed on all doom

Like the kite, we flew to greater heights
After so many imaginations, I saw her body which the moonlight kissed
Tonight marks the end of our celibacy
I know I'd forever remember what transpired in this room

After we had shone so bright
For in our own right, we have each other, pleased
Having tasted the primordial delicacy
We lay quietly in bed, for an uncertain tomorrow loom
