The Principles Poem by Biwot Kevin

The Principles

Come rain come shine come anything
Come pain come tears come pleasures all
And though my voice is hoarse still I’ll sing
Though my legs are weak still I’ll ne’er fall

Come voices spooky my soul frightening
Come looks seductive my flesh weakening
Come words so sweet my temptations mightening
I’ll ne’er shake nor will I my pace be quickening

I’ll smile where all are meant to cry
Why cry and there is no time for it left?
I’ll cry where all will be laughing dry
Why laugh and to your death there is a minute cleft?

I’ll stand where heat has possessed the ground
Or who said that solace is easily found
Or have they not my heart to ashes ground
Cheering thinking to hades i am bound

I’ll breathe or why suffocate
While the freshest air is harboured within
I was dying with death i nearly met
Until I knew that death is just another din
That makes noise that you die
Before your time is due
Oh what a relief oh what a happy sigh
I wish oh I desire that this afore I knew
