The Protesters Poem by spiritual seeker

The Protesters

Rating: 5.0

Today we come again,
In bigger numbers,
Waves upon waves,
Thousands and thousands…!

Young and old,
Men and women.. even children,
Fearless against batons and guns,
Choking pepper sprays and acid smoke.

Under the burning sun and bitter cold of nights,
We openly sang and loudly shouted,
In a single body and beating heart,
Either success or death do we depart!

Yesterday the streets were splattered with blood,
Some had lived and some had died,
Today more will follow as their guns became hot,
But we will never slowed and never stopped.

For so long our corrupted leaders had greedily squandered,
While the masses muted and long suffered,
Many innocent people had often disappeared,
Enough is enough, for these we have fearlessly protested.

For justice.. for freedom we steely strived,
This long evil suppression we must completely drive,
For my beloved nation and my people’s pride,
Today if I fall, there will be more to carry the fight.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

No matter how strong the walls No matter how much money involved No matter how powerful the tyrant The law of compensation is as strong as the law of gravity Lies never last, the corrupt leader is never happy Protesters become stronger, bloodshed is just making their cause exponentially important and more and more people will be gained to fight for the cause. A very well written and thought provoking poem, Kamaruddin. Well done 10+++
