This poem, credited to simply burgess was quoted by Johnny Carson on the July 12,1984 episode of The Tonight Show. He looked over at band leader Doc Severenson who was dressed in purple, and said you remind me of a poem I read in third grade... he then quoted it from memory. (Report) Reply

O Yes, I wrote the purple cow
I'm sorry now I wrote it.
But I can tell you anyhow
I'll kill you if you quote it. (Report) Reply

This is more like a quote than a poem, but I love it. I remember when I was younger someone said this and I was huh. There isn't no such thing as a purple cow. (Report) Reply

I don't know who you are but you BETTER take this poem down. This poem was written by my girlfriend StarLover from Creative-Poems many years ago...

I can't stand a person that would STEAL other work and post it as his own...
Take it down or prepare to be banned FOREVER!

    NOW! ! ! ! ! (Report) Reply
