The Pursuit Poem by Arwa Bharmal

The Pursuit

You are the inspiration for which I searched the universe,
It seemed that you were running all over in transverse.
One can find what from him has not been taken but lost,
A determined seeker will persist on a trace at any cost.
Though for my pursuit I yearned an emotional life time,
You held punishment for what i did not know was a crime.
Hence cannot come forth to what is hidden from the eye,
And cannot stand pompous beside him who is a hired spy.

Then I looked to find you in the spirits of the earth,
But in awe I found the cycle determined specific for re-birth.
Then I searched up high aloft and then under down below,
But it was not enough to turn over the solid line plateau.
Then beneath the outer self I dug into the buried within,
But only hit upon forsaken layers of unimpassioned skin.

Time to give up as this dead-end could not be breached
However to acquire you the search would not be ceased
Now and again in due course to the surface up it crept
In intervals through every arrived barrier it steadily swept.

Here and there -
After wear and tear
Together Forever -
Without another care

You uncovered a buttoned portrayal of my own self psyche,
You did not care if the portrait became a like or dislike.

We found and then crowned
Our known common ground
It will never be drowned
For no longer it is bound
Everyone who once frowned
To applaud now turns around.

Stay with me on this trip to eternity,
The life will be full of serenity,
Pray the footprints of Your shoe,
Be the direction of my avenue
