The Quiet Crickets Poem by Ashley Hawkes

The Quiet Crickets

There is a paddock near my home town
Where grass and tree don't grow
And in dizzy circles above the ground
Flies the keen-eyed Crow

While down below their looming foe
Loud Crickets earn their peck
The quiet ones sit smugly still
And earn a day's respect
