The Quiet Girl Poem by Kaitlin Schmidt

The Quiet Girl

Rating: 5.0

She sits all alone. She has so much to say but she doesn't.
She has sat in that corner all alone her whole life
Watching others carry on with their lives.
She watches as each person's emotions change.
She has so much to say but she doesn't.

She listens to each person as they laugh and tell stories
As they cry and comfort each other.
She wants to get up and join in.
She has so much to say but she doesn't.

Each day passes, everyone is changing
The girl just sits there.
They ask her to join, but she sheepishly declines.
She watches everything that is going on and listens to what is being said.
She has so much to say but she doesn't.

As the seasons change and the years go on,
The little girl tries to stand up, trying to join in.
She walks around carefully observing each person.
She has so much to say, and finally says it.

Welcome to the conversation, sounds like that you might know this girl. Sometimes all we need is 20 seconds of courage to get over our fears. Honestly a good poem and it was beautiful.
