The Quintet Poem by Cory Fox

The Quintet

Where are your eyes?
You’re lost with them shut
Why not tell lies?
We’ve miles to walk, but
Why won’t you rise?

A touch of your skin
Never will stay
Wish you could hear when
Your willful way
Cripples you again

Such fallacy
Weakens you to sin,
Obscurity
And wallowing in
Hypocrisy

A time and place
For everything;
A lover’s embrace,
A diamond ring,
And for a God’s Grace

Now verily
Absolve your regret
Set yourself free
Maintain the Quintet
In Harmony
