The Ragamuffin Man Poem by Dan McGonagle

The Ragamuffin Man

No one can see his pain or its scope
There's none can sense his pride
He once was young and full of hope
Now he's tired...and just wants to hide

His life was once like other men
Clean clothes worn every day
With honest work he was content
Till his family passed away

His heart was sorely troubled
His mind broke under the strain
To him there were no answers
Lost his home..thrown out in the rain

His scars were left to heal on their own
Had to fend as best as he can
No offer of help or friendly words
For this ragamuffin man
