The Rain Poem by Alyssa Wanii

The Rain

Rating: 5.0

It’s cleansing...
As it runs down my face, I feel renewed, cleaned, different...
As the others run for cover, I stay.
I look up to the sky as if trying to collect every dropp of water in my pores, like a bucket, or hole in the earth...
My heart feels heavy with all that I’ve done, and regretted...
But as the rain keeps going on...
making it’s journey down my body, and face, I feel my heart lightening.
I feel the cold water on my drenched clothes, and exposed face, hands, and hair.
As the rain starts to lighten up I feel my heart cleaned...
cleaned of everything.
I wonder why I’m out in the rain.
When the sun finally peaks out from its hiding place behind the clouds I feel myself gaining strength and courage, then I realize...
“I can live without you for another day.”

I too love the rain, and you do a great job of describing its sensation. I especially like the end where you give the poem a new perspective. Great job!
