The Real Me Poem by Pricilla Pui

The Real Me

Rating: 4.5

You said that you'll be there no matter what
You said you'll be there to catch me when I fall into a hole so dark
You said that you love me for who I am
But all these are things that I couldn't understand.

Am I such a burden
So hard to lift?
Do I look so innocent
That you thought I have no sad stories to tell and give?

I am not as strong as I seem to be
Sometimes I also wanted to break down and cry
I just can't face the real me
And I know myself, that my eyes weren't dry.

You never understood how I felt
Just because I don't show it on the outside
Your words made me melt
And finally I knew, I'm weak on the inside.
