The Receding Sun Poem by Joshua Lyons

The Receding Sun

Rating: 5.0

The sun's reflection on the water,
a mystery of life.
Please don't falter,
we need you here now.

We came to see,
but were left to die.
What's the price of knowledge?
what is the price of knowing?

Darkness overcame us,
We were castaways.
Buried alive,
too weak to walk.

If we could fly,
with one wing.
We would thrive,
and learn to sing.

Cut in half,
We stumbled on the ground.
Closed our eyes,
waited to be found.

We looked from the well,
to the fading sun.
We were forgotten
when it fell.
