The Requiem Of A Painful Memory Poem by Ida Faye

The Requiem Of A Painful Memory

Rating: 3.5

I am the one that pierces the heart
When distance is fresh as morning dews
When breakups happened seconds ago
When heartaches are unbearable

I am the one that keeps you awake
And crying in the middle of the night
The reason why you hold your mouth
In the shower and weep, so no one hears

I am what brought you to painful yesterdays
One you fight so hard to be replaced
Or forgotten, I am never kind and
All I give is pain, and heartaches and tears

I am the evil inside you, one that
Imprisons you to move on, reason
Why up to now you hold on
Why linger? Why can’t you let me go?
