The Right Way Poem by Satish Hukkeri

The Right Way

I thought I would never be like that,
I mean how could I ever be like that.
I thought I would change things my way,
I mean how could I do things the same way.

No sooner did the years grey past,
I realized the basic facts of life fast.
I did things the same way
Once which I never thought I would anyway.

I am now liking the things that I hated
I am in a hurry to do things that could have waited
I feel that I felt wrong earlier
It’s only now that things are more clearer

Today I tell my little ones the way
Which they discern and say ‘no way’
Alas they will but find the truth
As they grey with passing youth
