The River Poem by robert felstead

The River

River flows with poise and grace
Never in a rush, never in haste
Slowly travelling in a gentle ride
But sometimes rough from side to side
Rippling over sunken rocks
Cascading into well used locks
Full of plants moving in the flow
Shoals of fish always on the go
Towpath full of people walking
All around are frogs croaking
Tall rushes bend and sway
Next door are fields full of hay
Boats glide by, graceful and slow
The water is always on the go
River birds land to have a rest
Others start to build their nest
Trees are plenty all around
Some are old, some fallen down
All around life is full and glowing
Thanks to the river that keeps on flowing
