The Road That I Have Seen But Do Not Know Poem by Jade Leven

The Road That I Have Seen But Do Not Know

Rating: 5.0

there is a road that I have seen but do not know
so many come but so few are lucky enough to go
traveling the beaten path through their existence
on the road that I have seen but do not know

there is a battle that I see but do not fight
ten thousand bravely spoken words echo into the night
they enter my heart with such genuine wisdom
throughout the battle that I see but do not fight

there is a song that I hear but do not sing
I listen so contentedly in spite of everything
the harmony lifts me up into its beauty
as the song is sung that I hear but do not sing

there is a heart that I have felt but cannot hold
like the stories that I know but I've never told
it beats with such strength I never would have known
that the heart is beating in a life so cold

there is a voice that I had but never used
but now it feels so good, how could I ever have refused?
I'm privileged to know this world at all
and have this voice that I had never used

there is a road that I have seen but do not know
I lost a few friends to its grasp a long time ago
but I'm over that now and I wish you luck now
on the road that I have seen but do not know
