The Rosary Poem by William Sutherland

The Rosary

When I pray the Rosary, I crown the Blessed Virgin's head
With delicate impeccable heavenly roses,
Wiping away the tears of sorrow she wept at the foot of the cross.

When I pray the Rosary, my sins and failings I try to atone for --
Yet my soul is cleansed in refreshing drops of the Most Precious Blood
Shed for me and all of humankind.

When I pray the Rosary, I comfort Mary's Immaculate Heart,
Showering her dearest Divine Son's Most Sacred Heart
With the adoring affection it so greatly deserves.

When I pray the Rosary, I honor the lives of Jesus and His Blessed Virgin Mother
Through its rich Mysteries of Joy, Sorrow, and Glory,
Making little penances for my imperfections and inability
To return my Savior's unconditional love.

When I pray the Rosary, through my human limitations
Inhibit my paying the Lord the devotion He so truly deserves,
I dare dream, because of His infinite love,
Of the day when I with all the Angels and Saints
Will joyfully praise and glorify His Holy Name for all of eternity to come.
