The Ruddy Sun. Poem by Ifeoluseyi ifeoluwapo Ifeyemi

The Ruddy Sun.

Companion of the aging day
Mimic of the ambitious noon-sun
Illuminating beyond the shrouded cloud
Even its to make so loud
As the folks pokes and chortle
Saying:
It's still day
Like the unwatchful virgins
And night falls
Accompanied by search-calls
Of settlers and elders.
