The Runaway Poem by Edward Grey

The Runaway

I had tried
For so long
To do things
I could not do on my own

I had tried to hide
The pain inside of me
From my God
My Father
The one who really loved me

Why am I always such a fool
Trying to hide
What God already knows is inside
He’s there to help
If you will only let him in

But we build walls
We do not want to see
The plain truth
That is before you and me

He loves you and me
More than we can know
He created us
And he cares

So open up to him
When no one else cares
He will help
He will care
He will always be there
