The Sadness Of All Things Poem by Jeremy Michael Gregory

The Sadness Of All Things

We've now learned to dream in color
No one awakens till the song is over
You'll see the music in various shapes
The scenes it captures and creates
Our music is purple and projects midnight skies
Upon a horizon of curious eyes

The songs are played
To help us remember the good old days
To take us back to
The old ways
What would our ancestors say about all these things...

Ancestors:
The sadness of all things has found us
Spills out and surrounds us
And follows when we run
No one leaves until this is done
The people try to hide it
Or bury us inside it
It seems there's no escape
But these sweet, colorful sounds
These notes that save us
Will always be around

Let the music flow
Out into the sky
Let it spin around
And never die
Let the colors be seen for miles and miles
And bring to us a thousand smiles
