The Scarlet Night Poem by Scarlett Voight

The Scarlet Night

As I walk down the lone dirt path,
Moonlight can hardly peirce through
the tall dark trees

As I travel deeper into the wondering darkness.
I began to feel cold with each step I take
I feel like i'm deteriorating away

Suddenly I spot something,
it is a girl
She is running ahead so
I began to quicken my pace
but I cannot catch her and with each passing moment
it gets harder to breath

I see a light up ahead so I begin to run faster
I take another step and I am off the dark path

Standing in the light the girl is right in front of me
I open my mouth to speak but I hear nothing but the wind

She whispers 'Scarlet Night' and dissapears
Then I am at the beginning
of the dark trail
