The Scope Poem by Scofield Burrows

The Scope

THE SCOPE (CWC)
Boy: Excuse me girl
Didn’t you see me when I fell?
It was because of your beauty
My fair lady
Won’t you be mine?
Girl: Be yours? Boy did you take some wine?
Boy: Talking of wine, I think you and should dine
Girl: Boy! Don’t you dare, cross that line
Boy: Don’t blame me you’re just too fine
Immediately I saw you
I felt something new
I felt something true
Girl: From my point of view
Boy you’re beginning to sound a fool
Boy: Yeah! That’s cool
I’m a fool in love
Girl: Love? Boy you need help from above
Boy: Girl, if I don’t get you, I’ll get a heart attack
Girl: Boy, get off my back
Girl: Words with no actions that’s the way you all are
Boy: Girl I’m ready to take this to the alter
Girl: .................(wanting to talk) ..........................
Boy: Shhh... make not an utterance
All I ask is one chance
To prove myself true
To you.
Girl I know you’re not the type to be after money
That’s why I need you as my honey
And I’ll be your sweetie
Wow! Is that a blush I see?
So please will you be my honey?
Girl: Yes! Oh yes my sweetie!
