The Sea Poem by Nancy Fischer

The Sea

Rating: 5.0

naked
the sea
the ebb
the flow
takes me
it is mine
it is me
alone
the roar
the open arms
rolling to find me
take me away
from the noise
the sins of my past
the defense and the deaf
let me lie down
here at the water’s edge
be swept to away
roll out
saved by the sea
one with the sea
the sea
and me
to chose again
my flow
the strength in me
born of the sea
drift out
further away
further
and further
am I
to know in that place
that I
this far away
at this distance
under these beautiful stars
and that glowing moon
my ears
resting just under the surface
as I listen to the fish giggle
and the coral grow
the oncoming rush of certainty;
I know
it’s time
roll back
smile wide
the shoreline
waits for me.
