The Second Cannibal Party Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

The Second Cannibal Party

The Jungle Drums do sound again,
The Trumpets blare out loud,
The Cannibals Party’s held today,
And it’s sure to attract a crowd.

With Pygmies, Giants and Natives all,
Feasting and Dancing fast,
Vegetarians and Cannibals will be there,
How long will this Party last?

The Cannibals have promised to be good,
And will not eat their guests,
Can their word be trusted? ~ I do ask,
Or is it but a jest?

The Drums do beat fast and loud,
The Dancers keep the beat,
Wait ~ Here comes the food,
Is it Humans that I eat?

If I survive this Party now,
Will to the next I go?
Will I take the risk again next Month?
Will they be Friends to me? ~ Or Foe?
