The Second Chance Poem by Warrith Olawale

The Second Chance

It's gone!
In the gloomy sky, it's found its hiding-place.
Now there is none
Of what seemed so immortaly bright before my face.
I've lost it, yes it's gone for now and maybe forever more,
The beauty in those days I never saw.
I cry whenever I come to realise
That my tears are but valueless before time's eyes
That the star I had always craved shone before me seconds ago
But now, they can't flip back these pages, the whitest angels in their heavenly glow.
On this deserted path, I plod
With the tide of despair tormenting my blood.
Watching the bees argue and the leaves dance their fate,
I search for what seem not to be in existence.
While darkness never ceases to replicate,
I search for traces of the second chance.
