The Sermon Poem by Babalola Augustine Adeola

The Sermon

Rating: 5.0

Your voice,
like sword drew blood as you spoke those words
like i have never heard them before.
They pierced my heart and left me with tears.

Travelling along with new hopes,
joy in union with success.
It made my blood grow cold.

The closer i look,
the more confussion i see.
The more i tried to go forward,
backward i still see myself.
The more i strike,
the more i am struck.

... I asked myself,
will i ever get there?
So then i remembered.
Very many people have made it.
So must I.

Only if i can offload mysef,
like the camel.
To travell through the eye of the needle.
And take up His which is lighter and easier.
And cotinually sends him words.
To help me with this heavenly journey.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A serious, stupendous struggle for Salvation, climaxing with a question made rhetorical by the power of God! Well done my friend!
