The Shadows On The Wall

I fade into the darkness, like the shadows on the wall
Nobody hears my cries, nobody notices when I call
Although I scream I am here! the words just won't fall
I fade into the darkness, like the shadows on the wall.

When the night comes calling, then you might see me,
Just a mere reflection of the man I used to be
My life is now over, the end is yet to come,
I am the man in the shadows, and I died by my own gun.

Listen to my story and listen to it good,
I was that quiet boy in your neighborhood,
The one that you laughed at and called such awful names,
The butt of all your jokes, I guess some things never change.

I never lived a day in my life, that I wasn't scared,
I did some crazy things, I don't know if you was aware,
I lived a life of tears, was beaten black and blue,
Until one day I'd had enough, and my gun I drew.

The life rushed from my body, the blood gushed from my veins,
I wasn't the least bit crazy, I certainly wasn't insane,
I just felt that I'd had enough, of all that you did to me,
And knew that for what I was about to do, god would forgive me.

You see it was a choice, to end my life or yours
I didn't want to bring my family shame, of that I'm sure,
So I did the thing which I thought was for the best,
And now I wander the night, never allowed to rest.

So before you bully anyone, listen to my tale of woe,
Before you push anyone, just as far as they can go,
Live a life of peace, and practice good will to all,
throw no more punches, and no more names call.

I fade into the darkness, like the shadows on the wall
Nobody hears my cries, nobody notices when I call
Although I scream I am here! the words just won't fall
I fade into the darkness, like the shadows on the wall.
