The Shell And Man - Poem by Richard Allen Beevor

The shell broke,
passed into a million tiny fragments
and loosed a raging tempest on the land.

The time has passed
when a man can be at peace,
at his moment in history an end has come.

So it is
as animals die in sorrow,
when the human creature called man,
pierced the shell.
