The Shy Poetess Poem by Francis Duggan

The Shy Poetess

Rating: 5.0

She never does promote herself as others do though to her credit great poems she does write
Poetry easy to understand and nice to read and not hard to memorize and to recite
Yet even on the street she lives on she almost goes unnoticed one might say a quiet achiever of the town
She just writes because she does love writing and not for love of money and renown,
She never advertises herself to others I've never heard her say I am a poet
Yet of poet she does deserve the title and she is one worthy of literary note
Never married in her early fifties gray through her brown hair yet lovely to behold
Many of her poems bound to outlive her and her life story in book form will be told,
The shy poetess is a stranger to many since she has no desire to be well known
Yet as a poet she is truly outstanding one might say in a class of her own
She will always be the quiet achiever to others herself she does not promote
Some minor writers than her known far better yet she is worthy of the title of poet.
