The Smell Of You. Poem by Michelle Tiddy

The Smell Of You.

Rating: 5.0

I didn't know I had dreamt of you
But your smell is in my heart
A glimmering tiny sensation
That ripped me from the start

I close my eyes and can see you
Dancing upon my dreams
Frollicking upon my feelings
Gently pulling open the seams

Your power over me is scary
Your love for me is true?
I didn't know that I was whole
Until the day I found you

The sensations are never ending
The way you fill my heart
The tiniest glance, the smallest look
It's tearing me apart

If I look for you on summer's days
Will you walk away to see
Someone else who is watching
Someone other than me

Will you play with them on sparkling sand
Will you while away the time?
Will you flounder upon life's highway
Until you can hold my hand?

I've waited for you patiently
I've ticked away the hours
I've squandered my own feelings
Knowing what well could be ours

So what do you say my love
Will you cradle my soft face?
Will you sleep with me til summertime
Will you jump upon the pace?

I'm standing here all alone
In a field of golden corn
The breeze is caressing the fallen crop
My world is all forelorn

But wait I will til the final hour
When you will come again
Your words will dance upon a page
And I will love again

Here, there, everywhere, beautifully
My heart will soar, my spirit will live
My dreams will rise again
Until you, love me, and I love you
And there is nothing else.
