The Snake Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

The Snake

ascend into light
to grow spiritually
I discard this flesh
like a snake I shed this skin
only then true love begins
imprisoned soul
in a body confined
beating heart keeps time
materialist transcend
into infinite spectrum
seek knowledge my child
desire is the enemy
wisdom a treasure
