The Solution Poem by Annie Ortiz

The Solution

i am the girl alone in my room.
people around me don't love me, so all too soon
i take out the blade and make that first cut
to make myself feel better, but...

i am the boy, who makes fun of love at school.
however, when i'm at home i'm not so cool.
my friends aren't there, but the blade is
so i pick it up and begin...

i am the daughter, first born, first loved by all,
but as soon as i gained siblings i began to fall.
now i'm just a tool as everyone can see,
so i find the blade my friends introduced to me.

i am the boy, loved only by one mother,
until suddenly she's pregnant, soon i'll have a brother.
soon i'll be forgotten, so why stick around?
unfortunately, my blade is no where to be found.

i am the cut, solving every fight.
making your problems easier and ending your lives.
i am the friend who is forever there,
helping you to see that no one really cares.
