The Son Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

The Son

In Olympus they call me the fire starter
I ignite the flames and make things brighter
I create the plan and make it come true
I will shine every morning when the skies are blue
I'm not really the troublemaker in the family
But I fight and bleed for the sake of humanity
I sit on my throne right next to Zeus my father
I have followers who would die for me as their master
Destruction and disasters are my very own specialty
To strike and blow at any moment for its my authority
As long as I breathe and live I have my own duty
To serve humanity and not just my country
The killings and disasters are all just a cycle
After all we do expect some kind of a miracle
Giving donations was never enough for me
For I will only stop when I'm dead and free
We created the universe and all of those planets
We want to enforce the Law to all of our subjects
We are the elements present in this planet and in space
We're more than human although we also have a name and face
We want them to obey what we wrote
Not to see them as just words on a note
Greed or selfishness is something we don't need
We must remind you of our testament and creed
Have you seen the God Ra, Apollo or Christ before
Well you will for he is now knocking at you door
