The Sonnet Of My One True Love Poem by Amber Lyn Charneski

The Sonnet Of My One True Love

Rating: 5.0

I actually found you after all these lonely years
Though at the time my heart was a cold hard steel
Every memory before you stained by salty tears
Ever since we met I’ve been relearning how to feel

I’d tried to grab the wheel but I never could steer
But you saved me I swear you were heaven sent
It turned out that my life had been running on fear
Within the safety of your arms is time well spent

You helped me through the bird cage key’s lies
As you helped me to mend you the rest of my heart
While I got lost in the starburst of you blue eyes
And now in my life I know you’ll always be a part

Before I met you I would’ve hid in the trees above
But now with you I’m busy falling deeper in love
