The Standard's High

God formed the earth so pure and clean
A perfect world to live
His handwork’s still quite clearly seen
Through all He’s had to give

Man at first was safe and sure
A pleasure in God’s sight
Created strong to all endure
Whilst walking in the light

What about Adam’s seed today?
What path does man now tread?
Darkness has led us so astray
Until we’re walking dead

We know the devil and his wiles
We know what’s right and wrong
But still behind a mask of smiles
We sing his wayward song

If only man this side of hell
Could read God’s righteous mind
There’d be no cause a soul to tell
The facts to which we’re blind

Though worldly wisdom may be vast
And grace may yet be found
Within the prisons of the past
Are still yet many bound

They must be free of Satan’s chain
Receive God’s guiding Light
Through Jesus’ blood, be born again
And dressed, in time to fight

For Satan gathers far and wide
Now war; is close at hand
But only Christ, His loyal bride
May dwell God’s Promised Land………
