The Stealth Bomber Poem by Francis Duggan

The Stealth Bomber

A billion dollars worth of aircraft the U S stealth bomber
The silent aircraft designed to dropp death from the sky
In these times of talks of war and wars and famines
One feels prompted for to ask the question why

Spend so much money on these monsters of destruction
In a World where want and poverty is rife
The power that money creates it would seem more valued
Than something which cannot be bought back human life.

With the blessing of the Government of Australia
The Americans will test their stealth bombers on Australian soil
Without one thought of environmental damage
At a time of a World scarcity of oil.

A billion dollars spent on an aircraft for destruction
Their price on human life seems rather cheap
And millions in the World are dying of hunger
As some do say what we sow one day we reap.
