Flash of lightening
Thunder frightening
House rumbles
From her room, she stumbles
On the window, the beating hail
While outside, the wind does wail
My mother cowering
From the unyielding showering
Darkness surrounds
Tempest pounds
Rain running through the yard
It's coming down so hard
Winds swirling
Leaves twirling
Sudden calm
As quiet as a bomb
End is here
Nothing left to fear
