The Summer Rain Poem by Gerry Legister

The Summer Rain

I love the summer rain.
To take off my shoes,
On wet grass somewhere in the garden
And walk barefoot through puddles.

I love the smell of freshness.
To share the wind and the rain with you
And smile with sunshine bliss.

After waiting for spring
Soothing the frosty bite
Streams of water flow Through the windows
and beat like drums on the roof.

Summer rain upon the windowpanes
Gathered as relief floods.
To wash away the fear that looms in the tearful eye.
