The Sun And I Poem by Caroline Guedes

The Sun And I

Everyone knows of your radiance, your energy, your light
I have watched you from afar, my insignificance realized
For you are the sun, my love, and I am a mere star

Eveyone speaks of your beams of hope, your magnitude
I am rarely seen as there are millions like me and only one of you
For you are warmth, my love, and I am a tiny speck of light

Everyone looks up to you, praising your shine, your beauty
I come and go in the night with no recognition, you never see me
For you are powerful, my love, and I am a mere dying star

Everyone wishes they could touch you, revel in your strength and stay
I've tried to come close, but you burn me and I'm driven away
For you are blinding, my love, and I simply can't be seen

Everyone tries to learn more of you, to be part of you
But I can't breath in your atmosphere, sadly I see the truth
For you are big and important, my love, and you'll never notice me

Everyone praises your resiliance to never die, to never fade
But my days are numbered and I have little time to say
That you are my world, my love, and I'll forever worship your illumination

Everyone loves to fantasize about loving you, drifting on a nearby cloud
But this may never be, for I know the universes rules, it's not allowed
For you are the sun, my love, and I am a mere star
