The Sunset Poem by Arijit Mandal

The Sunset

Birds fly away straight
Into their nests to sleep,
The river water turns red
The fishes swim in very deep.

Time comes to bid goodbye
But darkness comes to meet
The clear and bright sky
The fluorescent lamps are lit.

The evening prayer is sung
As everyone said -‘Amen'
The church bells were rung
From fields returned the men.

Every turned yellow and red
On every clock 5 p.m. was set,
The sparrows were no longer fed
As it was time for sunset.
