The Surfer Poem by Ramdas Surianarayanan

The Surfer

Surfer I am
I twist my blades and conquer the waves
I ruled the waves and surfed my life
"There he is! " Cheered the crowd

I surfed and surfed and beat the waves
And saw the earth from top of a cliff
Champ I was for the rest of the world
Proud I was to hear my name.

Arrived once the day of storm,
I fought the storm all my way
I lost my strength and lost my way
Lost the board and faced my end

"There is the champ" none cried
Nor they cared I'm alive or dead
Fallen I was from the top of a cliff
Woken I was from my fake pride.

I struggled for life all alone
Came for me Ocean the mother
Came for me Air the father
Back I am to life again

Here I am!
Awaiting the wave
Yet to know what to come
Fingers Crossed..!
