The Sweetest Tears Poem by Sailing to windward

The Sweetest Tears

Oh to be your lasting rock,
to wrap you safe in tissue;
to turn back that heartless clock,
or set the quickening sand;
to wish I didn't miss you,
to be there - to hold your hand.

These are hopes, and things I miss.

But more than this I wish
to sweep aside dark, dark fears
from here, for ever after,
with love, and those sweet, sweet tears
which fall from joy and laughter.

A lovely poem. How about that, a fellow poet willing to go scratching for one of my poems. I did not realize that I hadn’t put The Captains Secret on PH. I have now rectified that omission. Glad you were able to find it on my website. Even more happy that your mother enjoyed Canada. She would appreciate some of the experiences in –I Cannot Return – Adeline
