The Text That Ruined It All Poem by Madison Boyer

The Text That Ruined It All

that day you sent the text,
reading it made me a wreck.
With butterflies in my stomach,
I responded with 'cool'.
Regretting my poor word choice
and forever hating my awkwardness,
there will never be a day I wish i responded
by saying 'I like you too'.

Now months have passed,
and crushed have faded,
but I still lust
over what was once an idea.
With this poem I hope you realize,
I still like you.
And every new person you fall for
hurts more each time.

Lovely piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely penned from the heart with conviction. Thanks for sharing.
