The Things I Know Poem by GOODLUCK ETSEREFE

The Things I Know

THE THINGS I KNOW
The things I know, they sometimes come and go.
They keep my hopes still for tomorrow.
Even when I decide to say “NO”,
The truth will still be crystal clear like the falling snow.
These things I know. I know that:
The pleasure, People derive from nature;
Is what they tend to nurture for their future.
And as times passes on, it becomes their culture.

The things I don’t know, I choose not to follow.
But when compelled, I sometimes burrow.
The ones I know, I considered shallow.
And at most times, they become too easy to swallow.
The things I wish to know, I give my respect.
With so much anxiety, I expect.
And sometimes, I’m determined to inspect
Any move I suspect.

Now……. Listen beloved
The things you know now and the ones you don’t
Is a function of that; you wish to know.
And together, they all constitute,
OUR INSTINCTIVE PREDISPOSITION.
