The Thought Poem by Jim Milks

The Thought

I had a thought today
A wonderful thought but it ran away
Disappeared like a fog before the morning sun
Leaving me with a feeling of something undone

The thought left is impression
The vague feeling of its greatness
The thought was mine, my possession

Grasping at the remnants of the thought
Just when I have, it caught
It slips away once more
As I drift off to sleep
and begin to snore
