The Time That I Knew Love Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

The Time That I Knew Love

Rating: 5.0

The happiness that I did share
With you my dearest friend,
And all those days that have now gone
I didn't want to end,
When joy did fill my lonely heart
And stars did shine above,
I wish that I could live again
The time that I knew love.

When everything seemed new to me
A dream that did come real,
Now distant in my memory
Such sadness I do feel,
For pain now fills my empty soul
And dreams are lost above,
I wish that I could live again
The time that I knew love.

Each morning brought me sunshine then
And you did light my days,
So I shall not forget you and
I'll think of you always,
But now the days are cloudy
As I watch the skies above,
And wish that I could live again
The time that I knew love.

There'll never be another now
For no one could compare,
And so I must go on alone
Believing you're still there,
I close my eyes and see you
And I pray to God above,
And wish that I could live again
The time that I knew love.

This was melancholy but inspiring Andrew. I loved the endings repeated on each verse, they were so beautiful to read. A joy to kinf this one. Delicious piece. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

this poem actually highlights the fact of how you need to live for the moment, and catch anything that comes your way I like it :)
